depends on the condition of the R at time of purchase and all the parts you need. Theres a couple restoration threads out there good luck

<- who is debating buying an R that has a B16A in it and selling that junk for a C5

honda parts are BLOODY EXPENSIVE, so i think restoring one would maybe cost more than finding one for cheep.

You could probably buy one for the cost of restoring a totally stripped one. But if your like me. I like a good project.

Thats why these cars are totalled so easily. I've seen them totalled for stolen seats. The cost from Acura for the seats and motor is so outrageous that no one wants to go that route. Now there are other ways of doing it but to bring a shell all the way back to stock would be a nightmare and huge drain on the wallet.

Thats the only way to do it. But in the end, used parts will still cost a fortune.

id say buy that type r shell and find another integra LS or GSR shell and convert everything. but if you want to completely restore everything to type r. good luck.

amen to that some people have to give an arm and leg to see the things they want accomplished.

IMO the finished product is more worthwhile and gratifying when everything is all said and done.

I totally agree with the aftermath, it definitely feels better to build something then to buy it built. But in the honda world, specifically the hype r world, parts are cheaper to buy with the car instead of for the car.
