Cant get AXLE in

Default Cant get AXLE in

I just did a tranny and clutch repleace... on a stock d16y7 engine. its a 98civic DX.. Below are a bunch of photos. the problem is, getting the axle back into the tranny box.. i cant seem to get it in all the way.. any tips / help would be wonderful

i just did the same thing, the axles actually went back in quite easily. But i did use a rubber hammer to just make sure everything was in snug.

put the axle nut on the end and hit with the rubber mallet

i got it guys... the pass side was easy... after useing a 2x4 and a hammer.. the driverside was alot harder.... and it just didnt seem to go in as smooth... the driverside is a little bit more out then the pass side.. is this ok? i cant see the bar metal anymore on ether

I'd get a rubber footed C-Clamp or something to clamp onto the hub and then hammer it in with a more direct strike.

the axle has a little clip by the splines that can keep it from sliding in, hardtoexplain but if you look at the clip as you slide it in youll see if its hung up and not letting the axle in.
