Default Thottle Position Sensor H22

I have a H22 engine and my Throttle position sensor is giving me problems. I did a code diagnose test on the car and code 7 keeps showing up. I checked the price for a TPS for a H22, but it will cost me alot of money. Does anyone know how can I replace or fix the throttle positon sensor. My car will run alot better with the problem fix. Somebody please help me.

I think there's a guide somewhere to retuning/resetting the TPS or something like that.

you can buy them off ebay for most mid nineties honda engines for 20-30 bucks -- it could be wiring though so be sure before you buy...

check and make sure the tapped screws didnt come loose somehow. If they are loose, the vibration of the motor will move the sensor and cause driving to be a bitch.

get out your voltmeter on the signal wire and loosen the screws

the thing should read .5volts at 0% throttle, rotate it until it reads btw .45 and .55 and it will be fine...

then just slowly open the gas the whole way to floored, watching the voltmeter, and make sure that it slowly increases in voltage as you go up and gets to somewhere close to 4.5v at full throttle

do this all with the keys on II....

Do you have an skematic were I can see what wire are connected to the voltmeter. I have try to read the volts from the sesor, but I am not getting any voltage reading. Maybe I am connecting the voltmeter wrong. Do you have an easy way to check this sensor. Thank you for the advise on checking the sensor with a voltmeter.

take the neagtive ground on your voltage meter and attach it to the negative on the battery or some ground bolt on the side of the fire wall.. take readings from the middle wire on a 3 wire tps ....

I did a diagnose test like you specified. The throttle is reading .5 volts at 0 throttle and at full throttle 4.5 volts. Thank You for the instruction. I still have the engine light on and code 7 comes up. What other ideas do you think my be wrong with the engine. Please let me know.

check your ecu wires the black and red one from the ecu make sure that you have no breaks in the wires.. the three wires that run from the tps make sure there are no breaks in the wires and be sure that you unhook the negative ground terminal from your battery to reset the ecu and make sure it can pick it up. It can be a real pain in the *** to try and get the thing to pick up you have to play around with it. good luck
