HELP! just did a compression test.
Not a good result if it was all done correctly. It could be something major, but I'm thinking it's a blown head gasket between cylinders 2 & 3 (someting major would be a cracked head/block between the two), that's why they both test at the same lower compression. The only way to really determine what's up is to do a leakdown. If you own a compressor (or have regular access to one) I'd suggest buying a tester, since it costs the same as paying a shop to do it for you. By doing a leakdown test you can determine what is the real cause of the low #'s.
If you're obd1 just disconnect the harness to the injector resistor box.
The fact that you didn't do that really won't affect the results it's just to keep you from flooding the cylinders with fuel while performing the tests. One thing to make sure you do while testing is have your throttle wide open, ie push in the gas pedal while you're cranking it.

If you do that you need to ground the secondary side of the ignition coil to reduce the risk of damaging the coil. It's easyier to remove the ecu fuse.

It's also reccomended to have the engine up to normal operating temperature. (if it runs)
