Default Valve spring retainers - GSR vs ITR

Hello. My friend may have the oppurtunity of buying a used ITR valve train for his four-doh GSR. What parts should he all get. Cams of course, Valve Springs (his GSR has a lot of miles on it), but should he get the ITR retainers too? Are they any better than the GSR retainers??

He'll also be purchasing the Skunk2 Intake manifold, cam gears, and a chipped ECU. And from what I understand an ECU to get is P05 (CX), P06 (DX), and all OBD1 LS ECU's (PR4/P74/P75) ECU's that say 02D011F0-1500 can be chipped.

Anything else we should ask the itr owner for?

Yep, get all the ITR stuff you can.

You need a P28 ecu. Any ecu can be chipped, but you need the right one.

The retainers are the same on all the B-series VTEC engines.

Any non vtec OBD1 ECU with that part number can be converted to VTEC. I do them all the time. you got that info from my ecu section on jdmhondaparts, correct?

LMA = lost motion assembly; looks like a spring loaded tube with a 'nipple'; acts as a dampener for the vtec rocker (the thing that the Big lobe hits). A bad set of LMA's can make you think you need a valve adjustment.
