Default My project has begun. Long 56k warning

Well those who know me or have been involved know I purchased a wrecked ITR for a dedicated track *****. Well she finally arrived at my door yesterday after almost 3 weeks from when I purchased her. I got the run around for a while about shipped due to the front end damage and the car not having a fully charged battery to move it around when needed. Needless to say it was a bitch and at times I thought I was going to have to drive up there and pick it up. As luck would have it the car was finally picked up 2 days after me leaving Wisconsin and meeting the previous owner Scott (hecklervtec for those who don't know him). Scott it was a blast to meet you up there and damn man I love those wisconsin beers. You'll have to start shipping me some of those. So a little back ground my father is a mechanic so naturally I grew up around cars. Until a few years ago the only racing I was involved in was drag racing. We have a 600 HP small block NA 66 mustang. The car is quick as hell but, is meant for a straight line and it only takes just a few seconds and the thrill is over. I wanted more. My father and I came to an agreement. He would sell his beloved mustang to fund my new project. He's a mechanic so he's more into working on and building cars. So he didn't see as much seat time as I did in the stang. So with not a whole lot left to do on the mustang we have decided it's time to sell it and fund the new car. I have a goal to which in the next 2 years I would like to have the car H2 ready and running ECHC series. I have waited to have my own race car for years, watching them all the time at the local tracks. Well folks it's now my turn. First up for the mods are the transmission. Big thanks to BlueR for the fast and friendly shipping on my clutch. Imola-Red-Dc2 is sending out my FW in the next few days and I'm going to be purchasing the ATS 4.9 FD here in the next week. Once the trans is built and back together, I plan on moving to the front end damage next. (don't ask why we did it in this order) After I have the front end squared away, the next move is to put a full cage in it. A friend who works locally at TachAsh who builds NHRA cages said he would do it for me on the side as to save me some $$$. That really helps when building a project of this nature. So when the cage is complete the next thing to do is get some seat time. I really want to do safety things first, as I can always build speed later. I still have my nomex suit from the drag racing so I'll just continue to use that. Now enough of the rambling and background, on to the pics. More to come in the next few days. Sorry so long but I'm just so damn glad my dream has finally come true.

Pics now start on page 2.

Sorry for the crappy photo-graphing skillz and the long post I'll have more pics up later.

Jason correct me if I'm wrong but I believe in building towards an H2 car I have to stick with the USDM front end. I have some funny pics of when the car arrived here that I'll be posting probably tomorrow so keep an eye out. Thanks for the support guys. If you know anyone who went to a JDM front and wants to get rid of their USDM headlights, rad support and front bumper let me know.

Thanks Kepani, and Chris that was the look I was going for. I had to get a pic as I wasn't going to spend $20 on a cheese hat.

Well guys I'm pulling the FW tomorrow as I have another LWFW on it's way. While the trans is out I plan on doing the 4.9 FD. I'll have more pics of the car being off loaded and the hood being ripped off of it tomorrow. I'll keep everyone updated on the progress.

Thanks Allan, I am going to need some more of the pics of your cage as that's one of the next steps I'm taking after the trans is back in place and my front end is fixed.
