Pics of your FMIC painted black on an integra
I would like to see a FMIC spray painted black on a G3 integra. I want to paint mine black, but that means i have to paint the coupler, t-bolt clamps, and piping.
I dont know how it would look, so if you have post them please
TIA

That sounds great. My friend had his painted on a del sol, but his bumper opening is a little smaller so most of his intercooler fills in. When painted it didnt have end tanks and piping showing.
On the integras the opening is a little wider so i was wondering how it would look
You think you can get a pic of your friends car?

Im sure it does too but probably not by much. Guess it also depends on what type of paint you use and how thick you put it on too

get it anodized, not powder coated. i myself painted mine with a high temp thin coat paint. i put on very thin coats at a time, and checked all the inside fins for any clogging, and none.
I have my intercooler painted black on my 96 GSR and you can't see the end tanks or the couplings because of the black trim inside the bumper. On a 98-01 Integra, you will see the end tanks because it doesn't have the panel of trim on either sides.
A 98-01 Integra is just begging for the trim to be cut out and having the intercooler displayed as a work of art. On the 94-97, the fin across the middle hinders things a bit when you are trying to display the intercooler, so I chose to keep it subtle.

You are correct. I have a 98-01 front bumper and i think its going to be kind of hard to hid the intercooler.
I want to be stealth
Pics anyone?

i did see a 98+ bumper with the oem grill and the intercooler behind that, it wasnt painted black but you still could hardly see it unless you where in front of it.

I think there is a certain kind of spray paint you can buy, You can use it to paint radiators and such so it doesn't affect the cooling of the radiator/IC.

There you go bro.

before...

after painting with flat black...

Notice I didn't have time to do the couplings and the clamps. If I would've finished those in black it would've been complete.

Looks real good
I wonder if the coupler and clamp would be still noticable if painted.
What did you use?

The intercooler is that from a Drag Gen III kit. 24" L x 6" H x 2" W
The paint I used on it was regular duplicolor flat black paint. The same as you'd use for touching up a car. I sprayed many many extremely thin layers until I got the color I desired.
I bet if I wouldn't covered the clamps and couplers it would've been pretty much totally unseen on the road.
