Default Swap options for a 1990-1991 Prelude? B20/VTEC? H22?

I'm thinking about picking up a 1990-1991 Honda Prelude Si for a beater/daily driver in the future, and I'm wondering what options there are, engine-wise for it.

It comes with a B20A5 or something from the factory. Does that mean that a B20/VTEC or LS/VTEC setup would work for it?

What about a H22?

B20A5 can't handle high revs, just leave it stock. Are you sure it has a B20A5? Most 91 Si's had the B21A1, 2.1 liter although it said 2.0Si on the back for some odd reason.

Well I'm thinking more along the lines of a B20 (CRV)/VTEC or LS/VTEC.

Or H22 swap.

i would start by swapping the car for one that has more support and is easier to work with, unless you HAVE to be different.
if you ahve to be diff then get out your welding rig and torch and hammers so you can fabricate up some moutns and stuff for an h22...

it would definitely harder for parts support, check preludepower.com thats where mostly all 3rd gen prelude owners are good luck. And if u want a H22A swap the mounts and axles have to be custom made because everything is discountinued for the car

yah but putting the H22a in the long run is wirth it not to many people do this swap and at the first look it wont look like it will fit but after the mounts its really not that bad even the mounts arent the worst good luck

He's talking about the OLD prelude. H22 swap isn't a simple 3 hour affair like it is in
90+ Accords/92+ Ludes.

The old ludes have A/B-series motors that sit in the engine bay like H/F series motors do.
