my head unit is pissing me off!! pics inside
no power out of sudden, the fuse in the engine was blow out, and i replace it. Still no power at all, dunno wut going on. anyone know how to remove the after market head unit?? help me please

Remove the faceplate, remove the trim, if you do not have the "keys" you should be able to slide a thin knife, [like a dinner knife] down each side of the HU go here http://www.us.aiwa.com/default...l=420 click on English then scroll to page 16 all Aiwas should be the same.

look under the center console(pic 2) There should be 4 gold 8mm screws. Remove them then the whole climate control and radio should come out. Then check all the connections. Also if you have a computer power supply take out the harn. from the car(radio) splice the power the acc. and ground (yellow, red, black)into the power supply. then check if the hu will turn on. If not then its a blown hu. Hope that made sense!~
finally got the unit out, and the fuse on the unit blown? i though i've checked earlier. any way i put new fuse on there, and guess what, the back up fuse under the hood blown this time??? WTF
I've checked all the connection, nothing is wrong.

Check out the wiring. See if there is any shorts, make sure all the connections are good, also check out the coloring of the wires. If there all good then most likly the hu is bad.

romoracing is correct, you have a problem with wiring or there is a problem with the HU itself, if the fuse under the hood only blows when you turn up the volume, you may just be under-powering the HU, you may have to run a power wire from the batt. to the HUs constant power, [yellow], if the fuse blows even at lower volumes, but after it's been on for a bit, that is most likely a shorted out speaker output, [minor short on one or more of the speakers/speaker leads] if the fuse blows as soon as you put it in or as soon as you turn the HU on, that can still be shorted out speakers/speaker leads, [dead short] or more then likely the outputs on the HU are blown.
To narrow down the problem you really need a multimeter so you can check the speakers and leads behind the HU, check for continuity to ground, [there should be non] continuity between any sets, [pos. and neg.] of leads, and that you have continuity/resistance between a speakers pos. and neg. lead, [measured in ohms] and that should be in most cases 4 ohms, [it may read a little more or less then 4ohm] here is your cars oem wire colors http://www.installdr.com/Harnesses/HA-Wiring.pdf use this to make sure you have it wired properly, check and make sure there are no bare connections, [shorts] no wires getting "pinched" under the back of the HU when you push the unit in.
If you don't have or can't borrow a multimeter, try this, disconnect all the speaker leads from the HU, make sure the speaker leads coming from the HU can't short out to anything, [including themselves] see if the fuse still blows, if it does, the problem is in the HU, if it does not, then more then likely the problem is a short, [speaker or speaker wiring] or miswiring.

thats way i am thinking about to get a alpine</TD></TR></TABLE>
Im crazy about alpine. But if your going to put an amp and are looking to say some money then i would look into a pioneer. Pioneer has a higher output then alpine does. Its sound quailty is also pretty good. Alpine is alittle more money wise but the sound quailty is the best(Imo) also if you get a high enough model (cda-9855 and up) they have a i-personlize feature were you go to alpines site and make a eq for it. But with alpine like i stated above you dont get the power on the outputs.
*Im just trying to show you another option then alpine.

On pulling an aftermarket radio out you could have used a set of radio keys to push in on the sides of the radio and it will unlock the tabs that are holding the radio in its cage. I hated doing radios in those hondas. They are a pain in the ***. There is a back bracket in the back of the unit held on with a 8mm bolt I think check to see if that is the problem.
