Default Removing Oil Squirters -- b18c1

was wondering the good and bad about doing this. I actually got this motor back from the machine shop and found they stripped out one of the squirters totally. So i was thinking about blocking them off. Let me know if anyone has had experience in this.

This motor:

b18c1 .25mm over CTR pistons
Decked Block
balanced
stock rods/bolts
ported head
skunk2 stg 2 cams, skunk2 hardware

well they don't make a heli coil fine enough to fix this one squirter.

I know there are people out there that have done this...

Well, my guy is going to heli coil them and i'll reuse them.

They were taken out initially to be cleaned while flushing the block. I believe it was the last guy that put this motor together that screwed them up.

Tell me why you block them off...

take a close lok at your oiling system, and where oil starts/ends. u will see why its good in some isntances to block them.

i have also heared of huge reduction in oil temps by blocking them.

...which would make sense, considering that they were designed to cool the pistons.

Golden Eagle sell the oil squiters plug kit that plugs up perfectly. I believe its an 8mm plug with a .75 thread pitch.

I would remove them if you were using a forged piston, but since your stilling using a cast piston I would leave them.
