Imports vs. Domestics
Ok, i want all you guys that are not in high school to think back when they were in high school and remember all the drama and beef with cars and people. Ok, there is a group of domestics and my high school and there is a good amount of imports. We are not all friends....well anyway we have a $500 pot in a tournament of races tomorrow night. We are going to shut up these domestics at our school. The line up looks like this:
Dom (Me) Integra ITR vs. Red Chevelle (so he says 14.2 timeslip)
Joey Honda S2000 vs. 2002 Mustang Cobra or Lightning
Levi Subaru WRX vs. 1969 Camaro
Justin CRX vs. Fully Built old F-150
ShawnyMac Integra ITR vs. unknown yet....
$50/person....they called us out. And my car is bone stock but for this night the local shop around town is hookin me up with slicks and 80shot just to make sure. Someone will video tape this hopefully and i will try to post, i will also update you on the wins and losses but this beef has been going on for a long time....Its funny lookin at the groups of cars at our school all park by each other...well we gotta hold our own tomorrow night.....i'll keep you guys updated....

yeah he thinks its gonna be close though....i forgot to add he has a 100shot and I/E....the WRX is stock....the CRX is fully built B16 w/ 60shot the other ITR has Clutch/Flywheel, I/E/H....should i have any thoughts about the 80shot going on my car??? Can the car handle it with stock internals??? Im just kinda scared cause i have like 5 months left on the warranty and none the less i dont want anything to go wrong.....
maybe its me....but i see import 0, domestic 5. maybe 1 to 4
I don't think the S2000 will be able to handle the lighting or the Cobra. Most stock Cobra and Lightings, I have seen run mid 13's with decent driver. But with 100 shot, maybe.
If I were you I would "stack" the competition, I would make the quickest domestic race the slowest import. So that you don't waste your fastest guy on a race that he might lose, but instead stack him against a person you know he will win without tipping off the other side. This will work assuming that this is best out of five. So you only have to win 3 races. So, I would put the two slowest imports against the quickest domestics and take a lost, but get the 3 remaining imports stacked against there slowest domestic.
But with your current list, the domestics will probably stomped on you guys. At least if you are stacked, you might have a chance.

hmmm.....i never thought about that "stacking" idea.....i'll run it by my friends today....i personally think were gonna spank em......but the s2k has some work cut out for him...i think he will win though....cause wont the lightning or the cobra be spinnin' in the hole for a while?

rwd have this great thing of transferring weight to the drive wheels. they wont spin
much.
I probably agree with Lip on this one.
Unless you guys are all on drag radials, the NOS will only help in breaking your
tires loose.
much.

they don't need to raise the rpms to jump on it. they can leave at low rpms and being rear wheel drive and with the torque...get out pretty fast. when i gave my opinion on those domestics.....its really dependant on their condition and modifications. if they are modded well and running proper...you really got your hands full. go to an import vs domestic event at your local track and see what 85% of the wins are. domestic
First time on this board. Im surprised , I thought I would find more ricers here. U all seem to be pretty realistic about the races. Ive been to my track down here in cali and the domestics run high six in the 1/8 mile easy. Total respect for an engine making 100hp/ltr but too bad their only 1 litre. If u can effectivly use your noss without spinning the tires then u will win with your NOS. But most kids dont know how to drive FWD cars anyway let alone one on nitrous..lololol. Someone thier will win in thier import but under equal conditions the domestics will win. And no they wont get trapped in wheel spin..lolol. I have not seen it happen yet since Ive been going to the drags. Have fun though but dont talk ****. It will give u guys a bad rap. When people ask if my car is fast I tell them its fast for what it is. But speed is relitive. Low 14s for the cobra is not considered all that fast.
I'm going to move to your town and open a shop building cars for spoiled a$$ kids.
we DO have a chance. there are just too many scenerios either way. we don't know the cars, the drivers or the conditions. pretty much you just gotta see what happens.
you think this TA was surprised? considering the teg is allmotor, broke pressure plate going into 3rd gear and pcvalve blew out and shot oil all over the place. again...it depends on way too much

Damn is right, my school had very nice cars, but not like you just mentioned. All that NOS (oops, NAWS) is gonna be funny
One thing you guys are missing is the Palm Springs factor lol
I`ve been to the races out there and it`s pretty funny. Is the s2k owner that 16 year old I met and his buddy has the stang?

I can't see you wining any of those races. I would save my money and buy some more mods and then try to race. If the guys are racing for money I don't think there cars are in bad shape. The only race you might win would be the unknown yet because we don't know what the car is. I not trying to be cold or anything but judging from the bet you made I don't think you drag race that much so your launch is not going to be good. Gets some mods and work on lanching, because the R is not easy to launch. Just my .02
It's more like 4 cylinders vs 8 cylinders.
Practice launches at the site you are going to race tomorrow and play around with tire pressure. It's more important than adding fast-mods.

Those are some nice rides for High School kids...
maybe its me....but i see import 0, domestic 5. maybe 1 to 4
It all comes down to the reaction times of the drivers, if they know how to launch...and wonder if the domestics will break down

You guys are gonna get rolled up and smoked...
The only scenario of an import winning is S2K + 100 shot vs. F150. ITR's, CRX and WRX will be hard to keep up with the big V8's.
