wierd code 1 and 43 problems with 1990 LS civic....again
I thought it was fixed but I guess I thought wrong...
I searched all over again and can't seem to find anyone with the same problem. I now have codes 1 and 43 coming at different times. Not together but seperately. Ex: I get code 1 while driving then when I get out I'll reset it the computer. Then the next time I'm driving I get code 43. Again, I get out reset and drive again and a little bit later I'll get code 1.
I've replaced the O2 3 times and each o2 I replace is good according to the checks provided by helms(but I replaced them anyway). I have also replaced the fuel filter and filled the car up with 93 octane thinking that maybe the gas was bad since the last owner said the car had been sitting for a while. I still got a code 43 but it would take a longer time for it to come on. I adjusted the timing and thats when this code 1 / code 43 thing started happening. I did however forget to jump the service connector(btw with a jkobd obd0->obd1 harness is crossing the blue and orange wires the same as jumping the service connector? if not what is?) and advance my gun to 16 while do the timing. Would this have thrown the codes?
I need some serious help and my temp tags are ony 30 day so I need to get this resolved and inspected.
Thanks for any input.

Code 43, the saga continues...
Okay so I'm on my way home from DC and I get all the way out of town and onto the highway and that damn CEL comes on again. I flip the code switch and it says 43....again...I get to my dad's and reset the ecu, play with the timing a little bit(red mark at 16 btdc) and check the rpm at idle. My idle speed is anywhere from 1200-1500rpm with it at normal operating temp. unless I bump the throttle a little bit then it will settle back down to around 850 to 950 but it will eventually climb its way back up to 1200-1500rpm. If I cut the car off and go to restart it, it will not be able to keep itself running without me bumping the gas. I let it sit and idle and after a while you can here the recognizable sudden choke of the motor indicating a code 43. I check it and there it was again. I said screw it and cut the car off and reset the ecu and took the long way home. I ran the **** out of it through some back roads and down a small straight-away, no CEL. I ran it down a highway a little bit in constant rpm, no CEL. I stopped at the *** end of a 4 way intersection(I was in the last line of cars to go), no CEL. I drove home down a slow, constant speed in high gear road, no CEL. This is the first time I've made from point A to point B without a CEL. My car is still idling high though, unless I bump it.
Any thoughts on this?

Today was mostly a day of code 1 and 43 coming in together. I had a friend looking at it today and he's telling me he has the same problem with his car but without the codes. He's got a 1994 dx hb with greddy turbo kit and safc. So I have a feeling that his afc is bypassing his computer forcing it to think everything is alright, at least on the fuel side. I think I might have a faulty fuel cap at this point. Everything else has either been replaced or proven to be alright.
My setup is 1990 dx hb w/ 1997 jdm obd2 motor, 1991 ls tranny, 1995 ecu, w/ aem cai, megan header, and custom 2.25 exhaust with magnaflow muffler
