Hondata gasket doesn't match intake ports?

Default Hondata gasket doesn't match intake ports?

What's the deal with that? What good is less heat soak when the stupid gasket protrudes 1/4" into the ports? Seems like more harm than good. I mixed/matched two different Hondata gaskets onto two different y8 heads with the same results.

Maybe I should dremel out the gasket and open it up to match the head?

My hondata gasket also wasn't even with the ports. I used a dremel to make it flush. I don't see how it could hurt.

Are you guys sure that you have actual Hondata gaskets, or a copycat. I beta tested a DSM Hondata gasket a couple of years ago, the port matching was phenomenal, the same holds true for the Hondata gasket I have on my teggy. I would contact Hondata about this issue and have them send you a new one.

yeah same with me..... the one on my B16 head fit like nothing else.... either you got a fake one or somethings wrong but I know the guys at Hondata will take care of you

I've used nothing but the older Hondata race gaskets on stock sized ports and they've always had fitment problems. It's not so much that they don't line with the ports as it is that they don't line up with the intake manifold studs and the gasket either won't seat all the way down or it'll bulge up in the middle.

The newer blue ones might be different and fit better.

They have blue ones? Both of mine are white.

Either way, I'll have to dremel it seeing as I just had my head ported. I was just kind of surprised when I pulled my IM off to see that it wasn't lined up.

It fits on the studs perfectly though - just not in line with the ports.

i have the Pro-Fab for my d15b and its actually a little bigger than the ports themselves
