Default blox IM/ rc injector problem

i'm about to fire up my motor for the first time in a year. i just so happened to notice my injectors not all the way in the manifold.

the 2 middle injectors are fine but the 2 outer injectors are about an 1/8 of an inch out of their seats. wtf. oh this is a blox IM on a 2000 Si with rc 310 injectors and a stock fuel rail. i assembled this motor on a stand in my kitchen and the injectors were all good then. i dont konw wtf happened but the 2 on the outside popped out somehow. my AA's are dead so i had to take a pic with the cel phone. maybe you can see the one on the left is not fully seated. how could this happen? the 3 bolts for the fuel rail are nice and tight. i'm at a loss - i guess ihave to take the fuel rail apart and try again...any thoughts?

are the rubber seals pushed too far in? should they be out flush with the manifold surface?

You may want to give RC a call tomorrow and get their input on the situation.

That's almost sig worthy right there.

What I have noticed about the RC injectors is they don’t sit down as far as the stock ones. Also what type of seals are you using? The Si ones or the ITR ones? I can’t remember but one seal is thicker then the other. So you might want to consider using the thicker of the two and for some reason I think the ITR seals are thicker

i cant really tell in the pic but is there actually a gap between the injector and rail or is the injector just no pushed all the way in the seal? also are you using the rubber seals that came with the injectors or are you reusing the stock ones? on my rc550's the injector kinda sits on top of the rubber seal and RC told me that is how its suppose to be.

I am running the Blox IM and RTC 310s. I did have to change the studs in the IM and take out the spacer, so that the fuel rail and IM touch each other. You may also need to look for the hard spacers that as in the stock IM below the injector seal on the IM.

i pulled the spacers from between the rail and manifold and then everything seated just fine, no leaks and runs good.

and how did you go about tightening the fuel rail down considering only the middle stud has enough threads on it?

i am having this problem right now with my rc310s, the problem is the rc diameter is too big to fit through the injector bore of the IM, so the injector basicially seals it self against the rubber grommet that r/c supplied, and the injector actually rests on the IM injector bore it self, unlike stock, which go through the bore..

not just the problem of bolting the rail down correctly.. maybe i can order 2 center studs to replace the left and right.. who knows

i just put the spacers on the studs between the rail and the nuts, instead of between the manifold and the rail.

my RCs did that on my stock SI manifold, it looked funny but ran fine, this was boosted as well, so NA should be good
