damn. have u tried looking around on the distributor/engine block? i know i freaking learned about this in adv auto tec last year but i dont remember where to find it except a service manual or online repair manual. i have the same motor too. lol. bump if u want till 2mrw i can go check on my car after i get home. lol good luck someone help this guy

Mistabone, I thought cylinders were numbered left to right as 1,2,3,4. The pic you have shows 4,3,2,1.
I thought the dizzy was:
-1 up top
2-3 with 2 being closer to the cab, 3 being closer to the bumper
-4 on the bottom.
Or if you use Mistabone's drawing it would be
-4
3-2
-1

Nope. 4,3,2,1 is correct. You count starting from the cam gear.

Turn the dizzy on the pic 90 degrees clockwise, and that's what you'll get. That is how it's normally mounted on the head, but the pic doesn't show that.
Number 1 cyl is on the right, front of the engine, where the pulley's are. I made a mistake of thinking that the #1 is on the left while adjusting my valves, and it would have been ugly had I not caught my mistake before I closed things up.
