Default Accord DX dies intermittently

A buddy has an Accord that just dies while driving. The engine just shuts off. The tach goes to 0 immediately even though the engine is still spinning. He took it to a repair shop and of course it didn't die on them and they could find nothing wrong. Any ideas?

TIA,
Alan

Do any of the idiot lights light when it dies? If they don't light up at the same time it dies...Sounds like maybe an ignition switch going bad.
