i have a question about buying bikes with salvaged title. as far as their value, does anyone know a rough estimate how much much lower the bike drops in value due to a salvaged title? or are bikes estimated on value on a bike to bike basis?

 

it is bike to bike, but I would not be paying for a salvage title bike unless it was close to 60% or so. of course there are different types for salvage(theft), flood damaged salvage, but most are crash related salvage.

 

you may want to check into insurance also. my GF just had her car totalled out, the insurance co gave her the option to buy the vehicle back from them, it sounded like a good option until they mentioned that they don't cover salvage title vehicles.

so check w/ your insurance to make sure they offer coverage.

 

i would say it varies bike to bike. depends on the amount of damage
