Eggum Racing Las Vegas Press Release
September 14th, 2005
Debuting the newly rebuilt Honda Civic at Moroso Raceway, with four consecutive passes dropping et’s from 9.40 to 9.04. Continuing on to Atco Raceway, with a repeat of quicker et’s from 9.00 to 8.85 including a 2nd place finish in the Pro FWD class. And finally scoring a new low et of 8.74 @ 175mph at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, September 10th. We were #3 qualifier in the Hot Rod class and finished the race in the #3 position after racing Ron Lummus in the semi-finals. An amazing race for both teams, my 8.74 to his 7.90, congratulations to Ron and everyone on the Garret Racing Team. The 8.74 pass also gave me the new title of Fastest female driver in Hot Rod class history!
Seat time and confidence in my new car and team kept me on my game in the driver’s seat with reaction times of .155, .115, .110 and .098 and the car’s times of 8.94, 8.84, 8.80 and 8.74 rounded off the weekends success. We’ve finally stepped outside of Venom’s shadow, the previous owner of the car and are that much closer to one of the season’s goals of going quicker than 8.65, without the use of nitrous, using a turbo legal for the ‘05 season (we use a 70mm), without an aftermarket transmission and most importantly without breaking parts every pass to do so. We have three events and numerous test sessions, over 40 passes on this transmission alone (honest!) which still has the stock gears & syncro‘s. The result of racing smart on a non existent budget and three months completely rebuilding the car, leaving only half the original cage (due to back-halfing the car) as a reminder of it’s previous racing days.
We’ll be racing at our hometown track, Chicago’s Route 66 Raceway, for the Battle of the Imports event September 17 -18th. Then on the road again for the remaining five events of the year in Florida, New Jersey, Florida again, Ohio and California.
Our website is almost entirely completed, please log on to EggumRacing.com Friday, September 16th, for additional information about the team. The site includes updates, picture gallery (including photo’s of the car when purchased, the ‘04 season, the Moroso fire damage and the building process that got it to where it is now), sponsor links, calendar and team bio’s.
I personally need to give thanks to my extraordinary crew, who’s accomplished more than most everyone expected. My crew chief Jeromie Hicks, my father and team manager Jim Eggum, my mother and team owner Pam Eggum. Harry Hruska of Precision Turbo for tuning the car. Also Theo Aasen for being a helpful addition to the crew at the Vegas race.
Thank you also to the fans, it was a pleasure meeting you at the race and also to all the racers and teams as well. Your encouragement and motivation are greatly appreciated.
Thanks to Bob Nichols and OmniPower USA for the new adjustable struts. They’ve proven to be a success in the recent testing and use at the Las Vegas event!

I'm not jumping back and forth. I'm running the Hot Rod class for all the NHRA events and ProFWD in the NDRA series.
Due to the large amount of money lost in the Topletz/Norwood fiasco and rebuilding the civic after the fire, unless we score a sponsor (like everyone else who's been competing since the beginning of the season is trying to do), there will be absolutely no way to race next season. Everything will be for sale and that's it. And since we couldn't start racing again untill the middle of August, time is short to prove ourselves and get exposure. It was a decision made strictly about marketing.

I really like this car. It is GREAT to see another H car in the Hot Rod class. Hopefully you guys can get that sponsor so you can give those Chevy guys a run for their money next year.
Good luck,
Jason
Good luck,
Jason
Steph, it's good to see you guys heading in the right direction with that car. We really need more people at the track and consistent numbers are a welcome addition anyday! Good luck in the future with it.
Thank you to everyone. We honestly didn't expect to be running this fast after three races, since we have to race on the safe side to keep tranny's in the car, so it's a pleasant surprise. Our goal was to run consistantly and just try to go a little faster each race. Looks better than making bonzai passes, breaking parts and backing them up with 9 second runs. Plus I'm getting more seat time this way and Jeromie's not complaining just changing plugs in between rounds
Steph, you have come a long way from your time in Tx. I wish things would have turned out better for you while you were here, but things are better for you now and thats all that matters. The car is running good and consistant.
BTW, I still have your jacket!
