concern with ep3 double x-brace and lowering.
i've had the D3 double x-brace on my car for a while now and i really like the go cart feel it gave me along with the feel that i'm driving on rails on the highway and vibration has reduced dramatically. I don't think i ever want to take this thing off but i want to make my car even tighter. My question is whether or not anyone on here has the mugen ss and double x brace setup on their ep3, and do you have a lot of problems with clearance? The kit only drops the car 1.5 inches right? If anyone is familiar with the brace they know that a lot of clearance is lost where it hangs down. I can probably get pics later when it's not raining as bad outside to show you.
ahhh no help where are you george with the suspension questions!?!?!?!
here's some pics for a better idea of what i'm talking about
view from the right of the left tire

view head on from the front. there's a bulge in the middle of the setup to clear the cat

you can see the part of the bar where it shoots out at a connecting point in front of the tire

look at getting a rear sway like a ITR one and it will be very tight. I'm on ITR struts and springs with mugen front and rear sways. I have no bars and my car feels like it's on rails. once I get my mugen bars on I know it's going to be sick.

Sorry for the noob question, but you can put itr ( RSX ) shocks and struts on an ep3? what year rsx for a 02 ep3? does it ride handle better?

Did you run into the same problems as everyone else has? I'm trying to find out if there's a way to counter act the D3 issue. Most people completely jack up the car off the ground--at which point, the car may flex, which maybe why the bar doesn't seem to bolt right up. When I installed the Neuspeed, I only raised the car up slightly to take off some (a lot) of the car's weight from the wheels. </TD></TR></TABLE>
I know people have a lot of trouble putting on the bar but i have no idea why. There was a thread on ephatch.com where a guy took 6 or so hours to put it on!!! it took me about 30 mins to put it on and that was only because my friend was also going between helping me and cutting down a tree. We jacked up the front and then put in a few bolts loosely and then jacked up the car from the middle of the brace to push it out and it went in easy using an impact gun.
anyways...good product for the $170 i paid for it

Maybe putting jack under the middle of the brace is what does the trick to counter-act the flex. Personally, when I installed the Neuspeed X-Brace, I thought of this so I decided to leave some weight on the front wheels. I had no problems w/ the install, but nevertheless, I haven't heard of anyone else having problems with the Neuspeed install.</TD></TR></TABLE>
yeah the setup is a lot easier to install cause there are only four point on that brace instead of the six on the D3 brace
