Default is there any higher rated speedometer

I wonder if there is a higher rated speedo. The stock one goes up to 270 kp/h and I want one which go up to 300 or so.

Isn't it limited by the gearing? I mean at 300 km/h it, would be revving at incredible speeds.

Under lots of boost? I think so.

With the stock Euro 5th gear and final gear you'll have to rev 10500 rpm and maintain engine power output at that rpm to reach 300 km/h on the speedo (not real speed)......
BTW you'll need a different tach that goes to 11000 rpm!! (SPOON?!?!)

If you are looking at your speedo at those speeds(not atainable by the way) perhaps you would be better off using the money to buy some driving lessons or some more crack.

I have orderd me a used USDM final drive (4.400) and in combo with my JDM 5th gear I can run 286 km/h @ 9200rpm with my 225/40/16 tires (diameter ~590 mm)

check it when you are a non-believer!!!!!!!!!!!!!! http://www.osella.com.au/java-gear-ratios-3.htm

typealex2:

Do you know that in Europe we have no Speed limits on the German Autobahn. Driving 1 hour at 230-240 kph is boring. Plus I think with a longer gearing in the first 3 gears it helps me in acceleration, cause I can built more boost, caue the turbo gets more engine load and traction is a huge problem on high hp equipped fwd cars. So longer gearing has 2 positive sides in my opinion.

Do you think or know whether your engine will produce enough power at 9200 rpm to reach 286 km/h? I think you need 350 hp @ 9200 rpm for it.

A turbo charged engine normally produce its max power at low rpms....

Not with a T04e/T3 turbine :D This turbo is the perfect baby for the high reving Honda engines. I have no doubt that I´ll produce 350hp. Hell I will boost more than 1 Bar on 9:1 cr

350 hp at what rpm? High overlap Type R cams are not ideal for Turbo.....

No, Turbo loves the stock ITR camshafts...........I have cam gears too.

This is like my setup (DRAG III) with minor different. Also 9:1 cr..........not a big deal on turbo lag and power up in the sky :D

The max power on the graph is reached at 8000 rpm and it's dropping very fast after 8100 rpm. I really doubt you will maintain 350 hp at 9200 for a topspeed of 286 km/h...
260 km/h top speed sounds more realistic.... Just my 2 Eurocents...

it looks more to me, that the throttle is closed suddenly at 8100.

A smaler turbo like mine, it is only a T3/T4 at 1.5 Bar on a b18C1 engine. Enough in my eyes power for 290khp.

Bigger turbo = more power at top end

harder to get for me and it is for sure expensiver. I got a 4.400 onyl used for 3000 miles fd for 100USD. And I ´ve heard that a LS tranny supports no LSD or so.

I hate to be the spoil sport, but I really, honestly do not think the ITR bodywork is stable at 185 miles per hour!
You mean like WARP 10 (Hull integrity) in Star Trek?
