radiator swap tonight.....how to do a proper system flush
as my title states. I just bought a new radiator ( all aluminum, no plastic endtanks thank god) and want to make sure my cooling system is cleaned out. How do I drain off the antifreeze and just let the water run free? I dont want my dog drinking the **** and dying. I just got a PM about the bleed screw on the thermo housing but have never done it on my Lude.
Also is there any way to separate the coolant from the water? I dont want to kill my dog, but nor do I want to have to collect all the systems water just to pour it in a drain.

Just put a large pan underneath you car, pull the plug, place a water hose in your radiator cap, and start the car with the water running. When you think that all of the dirt is out turn off the hose and let all of the water drain.Turn off the car, close the plug and fill it with water/antifreeze mix. With the radiator cap off run the car and top off the radiator.
your going to want to mix a hot cup of water with the tide powder detergent before you run just the water through it. this will clean up everything alot better then just plain water. we use it all the time a my garage
