The other day I was on the highway and went from 5th to 2nd in my ITR...wow
for some reason it didn't want to go into 4th, so I was wiggling it a little and finally thought I had gotten it in...then let the clutch out and saw the tach zing. Luckily I realized "this isn't 4th, it's taching up way too high" and punched the clutch. I would have been way worse off than that guy!

Shift at 8,300? is there even any power at 8,300 i figure your just loozing power by shifting that early.... u know the trick is if you speed shift, shift 500 rpm'z earlier than red line ;-).... japanese stuff. shift at 7,500 or even 7 grand and leave it on clutch a lil longer then speedshift.... jes a little trick F.Y.I c u later

Well I'm a master tech at an Acura dealer and not to long ago I had an RSX-S come in that was an obvious misshift. Now I don't know how bad but it must have been topped out 5th going to 6th and hit 2nd because this motor had 1 piston get completely destroyed and missing it was in the oil pan and 3 dropped valves and others bent 90deg to the seat. I found piston ring pieces and valve stem pieces sitting in the intake manifold and a lot of aluminum chunks form the missing piston. I'm still dismayed we covered it for him as a one time thing but I have to tell you it was unbelievable. When I pulled the head off there was a rod with a pin but no piston and one of the others looked as though someone had been playing drums on it with a ballpeen hammer. Acura later called in the parts to be returned to be inspected but don't think they'll find anything useful the kid really funked up that motor get this 1500 miles still had temp tag on it. And it sat for like months on back ordered motor. So to all you RSX owners watch it with that 6spd its smooth and tight but easy to blow a shift and the mototrs aren't as bulletproof as the B-serious just my opinion but its smooth.

Which Acura dealer? Esserman or Miami?
BTW as for misshifting, I've crapped myself more than once! Not once or twice, but 3 damn times I missed a shift on the '93 GS-R.. worst was leaving Moroso racing a Saturn. I topped 4th looking to hit 5th, well I found 3rd instead.... saw the tach sweep past the 9.5K marking
Thank god those B17A's were built to hell!
