I'd say it is but most times you get what you pay for.

You could consider putting on the front end yourself.

Does that include blending into the origional paint, ie. they paint part of the doors to make a smooth transistion in the shades.

I should hope so at that price.

most likely.

I don't even live close to MOB works but from what I've heard and seen in pics they do an excellent job.

1700 just to paint the front clip?

eek I'd have to have everything else done to the car before I'd put 2K into the exterior...unless of coarse mine got messed up.

Just reminder you do in fact get what you pay for. I have read the MOB in many magazines and they seem to know what they are doing. It all comes down to what you are willing to do, and what you are willing to pay for. Paint, supplies, clear, and labor arnt cheap. I got an estimated and it was $569 just for a new front bumper and paint. Hope this helps.

Do the install yourself. Have it painted elsewhere.

get it painted at joe's autobody in temple city they quoted me around 800 for color matching paint, they do clean work....i'd say even better than MOB,

you will get a clean paint job ONLY if you know them, and no im not talking from what i've "heard" 3 of my friend painted their cars their and they came out good but not MINT, few flaws their overrated.

BTW, they take forever to paint a car...monthes sometimes

Price does not always justify a good job. I have seen MANY times where the shop uses their name to charge high prices. In the end, alot of short cuts were taken. Many paint shops start off doing "elite" vehicles. Once their name gets big, they only focus on the names or people who will make magazines.

If you are a nobody, expect short cuts and expect a long wait. BTW, this is a general statement and I am in no way aiming this towards MOB. I do not know them nor have I seen work personally from them. I only speak from experience from a shop who Ive dealt with in Dallas/Ft Worth.

I've seen great paint jobs come out of MOB... but they've all been returning customer/friends of the shop.

I ******* hate hearing the excuse of "you have to know miguel" when people pay alot of money there for poor quality job (which I have seen quite a few of)

MOB is well known. The best of the best paint jobs I have seen in person are from HOT ROD shops like so-calspeedshop.

This is a friend of a friend, 1700 is to do some body work, the usual rust, engine bay, door jams, hatch, everything prepped, painted, and 4 coats of clear.

i say its a pretty good price knowing that a few shops here in chicago is charging 3k for the conversion being done, and now that everyone wants them the prices have gone up to 4k.

I second that comment.

They will respray your front end for free if it starts to chip. Actually, I should have said, WHEN it starts to chip.

Don't some of the parts need to be painted before being installed?

MOB does flawless work on JDM front ends and paint comes with a warranty if there are any chips. Paint quality has greatly improved and rock chips are a thing of the past.
