Civic 98 trans problem.. with trans control unit

Default Civic 98 trans problem.. with trans control unit

ok heres the problem:

i upgraded to SI door on my 98 civic, i installed a 98 ex floor harness but it was off a 5 speed.. also did 2k climate control conversion.. and now that i put it all back together my car (automatic) wont shift .. the engine light was on.. and the code that it throws me it regarding the transmission control unit... not working properly or not hooked up.. WHERE IS THIS UNIT LOCATED? COULD IT BE BECAUSE I USED A 5speed floor haness>? PLEASE HELP!!!!! THANKS

Even though the harness you have plugs in that dosen't mean it has all of the necessary wires. Look inside the plug and you will see empty spots where more pins could be.

Compare the plugs on the harness'. Check and see if they have the same number of pins and that they are all in the same place.

You may want to give a company like IPT or Level10 a call. They do high performance valve bodies for imports. They may be able to answer your question throughly. It may be something as simple as running a couple wires and pinning them into the plugs.

Maybe you could get a shift kit too.

thanks for the info.. ill look into it tonight.. im doing 5 speed convesion next month but i just wanted my car to run properly for the time being..

the codes are:

P0700 trans control system malfunction

P0750 shift solenoid b circiut electrical

please help

It's probably not malfunctioning. It's probably just nt plugged in.

Compare the plugs from your new harness to your old one.

look under the shifter area maybe you left a connection unplugged.

Thanks for the advice.. ill be comparing both harnesses tomorrow.. i do have a plug that i cant find where it goes its located under the dash.. ill post pics tomorrow
