Swapped JDM B16A Throwing Map Sensor Code
Alright I swapped in an obd1 jdm b16a into my 94 si and I'm throwing the map sensor code. From what I have read the map sensor is located on the firewall in japan, so I wouldn't have one. Now I have read you can get a map sensor, and hook it up or you can switch out the throttle bodies. Now can I just get a GSR or Type R throttle body and run that? I am also throwing a TPS code, and my TPS is hooked up correctly, so do you think the TPS could be bad on this motor?
of course u have a map sensor...it is one of the most vital sensors for ur engine...it is located on ur firewall...are u throwing code 3 or 5...make sure ur sensors are properly connected as well as ur vac lines...
I have the same problem with mine, except I have a gsr in my hatch, and it's boosted. Do you have the knock sensor wired up? When I was na I didn't have it hooked up, and that's the only code it threw, but once I boosted mine it started throwing all kinds of codes. Is there a safe mode that the car goes into to throw the tps code? I already know why I'm throwing a map sensor code. Anyway looks like we have a similar problem so if anyone has any ideas let's hear em. Thanks in advance.
try replacing them with known working ones and see if it solves it...if not, then there is a chance that some wiring might have gotten pinched when u swapped it...or a loose connection somewhere...
I don't believe there's a map sensor on the firewall, I just looked, I think the older civics had the map sensor on the firewall. The car is obd1 and the motor is a jdm b16a that's obd1 as well. On the GSR the map sensor was located on the throttle body i believe, as well as on my z6. So I honestly don't think there's a map sensor, the car is running on limp mode so it wouldn't surprise me.
Now will a gsr throttle body fit on a b16 manifold?

So I will need to get a map sensor and mount it to the firewall right? Or just get like a gsr throttle body (which has the map sensor) if it fits to the manifold.
I guess you could just get a map sensor run a line to the intake manifold and call it a day, or yeah you could just get a gsr throttle body. So do the b16 throttle bodies not have a map sensor?
