Default ITR Engine Capabilities

okay, well after getting to drive my friend integra type r, i've decided to sell im 98 subaru impreza 2.5rs for a type r, i think. the type r felt like a beast, my impreza is a hell of a lot faster than a type r, i beat a turbo charged type r on the track that ran mid 13s. basically, what are the possibilities of the b18c5? comapred to my rs, the itr felt like an all out race car and road a hell of a lot better then my rs. can anyone provide me with any insight and reasons to dump my 350whp impreza for a 190bhp integra?

You've never been in a real race car then.

If you looking at the Type R just for engine capabilities, find a legit (ITR or GSR) hybrid hatch and buy that.

Bbasso said it best. There are a few high horsepower Rs floating around. There's a 2001 NHBP R with 550whp for sale but it's not a R block, but a C5 is just as capable when built.

John at LHT has a 500+ HP ITR that is reliable as hell. He's driven it from tampa to orlando many times and gets ~30MPH

You have the best looking suby impreza made. I would trade my R for a 98-99 STi in a second.

BUT, you must have some serious loot into that 2.5RS to make 350 reliably. I have seen ALOT of boosted RS's and most have taken a poop...or did you pop in an ej20?

The US EJ20 can't hold 350whp reliably either.

I sympathize with RicanLynk.
I’ve owned all kinds of cars. 96 Civic DX, del Sols, CRXs, swapped EK, S2000, two ITRs and am currently in an E46M3 and a 98 ITR.
I have to say, while the M3 is stupid fast, looks nice, safe, heated seats and HID, the ITR is just funner to me.

At the end of the day, do what you can afford, and what feels good.

lol

ITR = softness compared to an actual race car.

ITR is semi stiff for a street car but man, I love my soft *** ITR springs compared to my old suspension now that I just drive the POS on the street.
