(PICS) Magnus Motorsports Talon
wtf is up with the front suspension on that car? where is the upper control arm, it looks like its attached to the framerail, lower than the bottom of the shock?
are you sure tony? it looks like its got a fork on the bottom of the shock ??? usually the bottom of the shock would have a huge metal piece attached to it, with through bolts that would be holding the "hub housing" and the strut inplace.....
maybe magnus or someone that knows them will chime in and explain whats going on int the front susp.
where did he get that stainless v-band exhuast housing??? and are they expensive?

The suspension is built by them. Orignally the hub carrier extends above the tire and the upper control arm is attached near the top of the strut tower opening. That car has custom hubs, control arms and mounting points to reduce the weight of the suspension and allow it to clear larger tires.
It would be interesting to know how much time they actually put into modeling that suspension to retain safe alignment thru it's travel.

So what has it run? The DSM AWD record is now 8.1@176. Can it beat John Shepherd's record?

it is back halfed so it really won't beat shep since he is still unibody.
just a though they may have swaped over to the 1g suspension because of more/better parts availibility.
I thought the blue one was FWD? I know one of their cars is FWD for sure and this one appears to be on a 2wd dyno for the pics

The green one (a customer's car) is FWD, this one is AWD.

You would enjoy checking it out Tony.

Not really a back half, The suspension and subframe that holds the drivetrain is tubular, but the body and chassis remains unibody.
finally the car is done! Business has been busy for marco to time for the car has been tight, glad is finally done. Shakedown passes hopefully this sunday at a local event.
The fabrication on the car is second to none. From the subframe, hubs and suspension. Everything was done for a reason that helps relieve breakage from the stock AWD drivetrain that is notorious for breaking.

It's still not really comparable to Shep's car considering it does not retain the factory suspension mounting points. The tubular crossmembers moves the suspension mounting points.
It should be a pretty sweet Hotrod class car. Which, I beleive, is the same class Shep will be racing in.

if you already have a locked center diff or a center spool, then all you have to do is just remove the transfercase to make the car fwd.

Yea, we don't want another incident with the rear pumpkin letting loose at the top end again.
