Well im getting my h22 in in about a week and a half. Its a USDM h22 type sh. I am going to put type s pistons in them on the stock rods (that will work right?). But the helms says you need some kind of hydrolic press thing???? Is this true or is there some other tool i can use? i dont have a mechen shop around here that could do it for me so thats out of the picture.
here are the pistons i want from h motors online

u need to take it to a shop to have them press it in. to remove them, you also need a press to press them out. DO NOT do them yourself.
mgags7 is right about the SH block into a 4th gen without the ATTS unit.
You do NOT need a hydrolic press to get the H22A4 pin off the rods. They are floating pins and can be pushed in/out with a little effort. The pin is held in place with circlips. The H22A1 has press fit pins that you would have to have a shop for disassembly/assembly.
