rpm not working, si gauge cluster on 99-00 civic dx
I installed a 99-00 civic si gauge cluster on a 2000 civic dx and the rpm is not working. I tap the blue single wire on the driver side strut tower to the distributor blue wire and still nothing. Don't have manual so if anybody has some advices it would greatly be appreciated.
I installed a CTR cluster into my 99 cx. I didn't tap into any wires, I just plugged what was on my original cluster into the new one and everything worked fine.
The gauge came off my friends car right before I put it in and it was working fine.
I did the same thing he did to make it work (tapping the wires)

You shouldn't have to tap any wires. I'd say undo whatever wiring you did and just plug in what you unplugged from the other one but you may have damaged the tach by running a bad wire to it.
When I tapped the wire it moved a little bit (very little) I also heard that 96+ civic dx wire is not connected to the distributor to read the rpms. Is there a way I can test out the gauge cluster directly to the distributor to see if the rpm is even working? It also looks like the harness that connect to the distributor was all cut at one point. I need to know what wire goes to what on the distributor.
