Default clifford 10.5x help!!!!!!!!!

problem: alarm siren wont chirp on arm/disarm or with alarm triggered

what i have tried: siren works... tested it and can get a sound

i have voltage going to the siren and the ground is good when connected to the alarm..

what i mean by this is taht i hooked up my mulitmeter to the wires and i am getting 10 volts on trigger but no chirping from the siren...

also when i try and program it using the valet mode.. its supposed to confirm the different menus with the number of chirps.. no chirps here either

it was working before... any idea?

The siren is blown, just like you can blow a speaker, you can blow a siren, Go to any install bay and buy a salvaged one $5 at the most, I give them away for a box of TimBits 94

PS, Clifford has a lifetime warranty on their alarms.

Oh that's diff., if you hook the siren directly up to a batt., does it just chirp or will it continue to go off?

If you arm the alarm and trigger it do the park lights flash, does the LED flash when you arm it? 94

the alarm just chirps once on contact with the battery

if i arm the car the parking lights flash as normal...

i did hook up a new siren and it worked.. i just wanted to use the supplied one since iit was smaller...

let me know what u think

check the brown wire on the alarm brain. make sure that there is a 12 volt signal coming out.

Use the one that works, the "smaller" one has a problem in its "electronics" unlike a speaker, that only has a VC, a siren has an "amp", [and I use the term amp loosely] but it has a circuit in it that takes 12V+ and turns it into an audio sig. that is then sent to the sirens VC, if you hook 12V+ up to a speaker it would also make a sound, one tone, and not for very long. 94
