Im about to use seafoam on my motor but i hear so many different ways of using it! I just want it to clean out my head and oil passages and also my fuel lines. Where should i put it and how long?
I searched but i want to hear from someone who ACTUALLY did it to their own car. Pics would be great also! THANKS

i did a half in the booster hose, 1/4 in the oil and the other in the gas. drove til the gas was gone and changed the oil... which was black as ****. Thats about it.
It really isnt a big process as people will say. And also my car runs the EXACT same because it obviously didnt have any PROBLEMS with the carbon builup. It did blow smoka all over the place though.
Try it, shouldnt hurt.

I did it. Do what the can says and everything will be fine. My idle was alot smoother. I also changed my plugs after I was done..
I used the line circled in the picture.
Step 1: You must do it when the engine is warm. After youve been running it a bit
2: I had a buddy help me out. I told him to sit in the car and keep the revs up while I put the line in. You have to do it a little at a time. IT will spit and sputter and carryon.
3. I could empty most if the can. More in the intake IMO the better. The little I had left I dumped in the gas and ran it. You let your car site for 5-7 MIns off after you empty the can.
4. Once the 5 mins is up go drive it GOOD and preferbaly in a non-populated area.

Youre suppose to put some in the crankcase and then take a it for a "spirited" drive. There is no reason to take it for a drive if you only put it in the IM and gas tank. Dont forget after you take it for that spirited drive, change your oil.

i put 1/3 in the brake vaccum line..and some in the oil (let it sit for a while) and some in my gas tank when the tank is almost empty then i ran it down the block up and down for a while then changed my oil and my spark plug..if u check ur spark plug it would be all black and **** haha

ok for an overview if im reading this right
first i put in into that tube off of the fuel rail. about half the can
then i put 1/4 into my oil and drive in about 10-15 minutes and then put it into my gas. then change my plugs and oil!
where is my break booster?

i did it last week in my ls with 160k. i honestly didn't notice that much of a difference. slightly smoother idle, but nothing to jump up and down about. i did 1/3 in the brake booster, 1/3 in the crankcase, and 1/3 in the gas tank.
its the big round thing on the firewall behind the master cylinder, actually its what the mc bolts to , dont forget to put the hose back on, or else your going to have fun the brakes when it comes time to stop...
heres what i did.. i have a 92 integra GSR with the B17 with 237,xxx miles on it. I was scared to use it.... but i did.. first i poured some into a spray bottle and opened the throttle body while the car was running.. and started spraying it in there as fast as i could. then i sprayed it in the brake booster line.. then put some in the gas tank.. i just wanted to do a little test and make sure no problems..
the car smoked for a short time.. but i am gonna do it again this time dump more in..
should be ok.. just DONT pour too fast.. you dont want to hydrolock it..

I've used it in the vac line, crankcase, gas tank. It's ok, but it's no miracle worker.
Here's a good detailed write up for ya

Exactly what others have said...not a huge difference, but if your bored and have a few dollars to spend, why not. I used 1/3 in the brake booster first (SMOKED LIKE HELL), 1/3 in the crank case, and 1/3 in the tank of gas......
In the end, the car ran and rev a little smoother.

VOUCH for seafoam. I used it, some in the gas, some in the crank, some in the manifold. white smoke poured out. No comment on performance cause i swapped to synthetic oil after the flush (that was the point) and the car did idle a bit smoother. with Amsoil synthetic oil, the engine felt....'revvier' if you can understand that.

for about five bucks...it cant hurt. I would say that i got my money's worth...

Very true, anyone else?

When I use it I start the car and pull the brake booster line from the intake side of the 1 way valve and stick it in the can of Seafoam and let it suck up what it can with just a little push of the throttle till it stalls out. I then let it soak in for about 15 minutes. After 15 minutes is up I start the car and let it run for about 15 more minutes till the fu@ker stops smoking.
It is no miracle worker but is great to clean out your intake manifold and valves for regular cleanings. I have yet to ever add it to my oil or gas because it is to much like carb spray and would mess the oil up and doesn't burn very well, that's probably why the car smokes so bad trying to burn it out.

Same...did notice a little more pep in my wifes SUV though. If you high rev from time to time there really shouldn't be that much of a carbon build-up. When you put it in the oil it clean the crankcase great. I recommend it.

im gonna put it into my gas about 1/4 of a can... but i have really high compression (12.5.1) would this hurt it... i have like 1/4 of a tank left?

but it has hurt people. roll the dice and try it for little to no gains. most people gain nothing. not worth the risk. do a tuneup and replace old hoses, you'll be happier.

I'll tell you that before i changed idle i could feel a slightly smoother idle, however this was at only like 90k miles, and i keep my car in fantastic shape, so i guess you could say i 'could have done without it' but i felt it necessary, and if your engine is old and dirty, and it gets you an extra MPG, itll pay for itself fairly soon considering these 3 dollar gas prices.

I don't think pouring a full can of seafoam into the engine through a booster hose could ever hydrolock it. If it was done correctly as in when warm. The seafoam would burn off. The motor might sputter out and die with a full can but after it dried i think it would be fine. I think hydrolocking is when the piston cannot compress liquid and it bends valves and does other interna harm. Basically there is no reason to put that much in your car but don't get everyone scared to think if they pour too fast their engine is toast.
