sorry if this is a little OT, but a couple years ago my parents got me a digital camcorder but i've never had a computer with a dvd burner or any kind of performance worth using for video editing until just recently. i was wondering what kind of software everyone was using to edit videos

hardware makes a world of a difference in video editting as well, unless u have an apple if u want to get some serious editting done look into getting a graphics card for that purpose, Pinnacle and Matrox are two companies that offer agp and pci cards from as low as 200 to in the thousands and normally include editting software.

Otherwise if you just want to go software based look into pinnacle studio 9 for beginning stuff or adobe premiere for a more medium difficulty editting software.
