got scammed
I just got scammed into buying this bike for 3grand. Out of state sale; had a middle man (escrow), which is a website called, http://www.motorsecured.com, i was asking a simple question after the sale, but the guy never emailed me back. then all of a sudden i cant find this motorsecured.com shiet! I sent money via western union but towards the excrow place. is there a way to get my money back??? ****!!! i should have waited longer and bought my self a new bike instead.
You could try contacting the registered owner of the domain, although it most likely won't get you anywhere. It was also just registered very recently, also notice the domain also goes back to bejing, they can't be held liable by american laws.

Yeah, you're pretty much fucked, sorry bro. I'm guessing he suggested that website to you, which he runs. You should've used a reputable one thats well known. Lesson learned man swallow it and move on.
Sorry to hear that man, but why would you do that??? As soon as someone says escrow or western union you should know right away its a scam. Best of luck
Wow you cant be serious. This scam is so old. I cant believe people would send their money to some crazy escrow website that isnt http://www.escrow.com
Caveat emptor.

dudes I know!! im so freeekin down. I cant believe I fell for it, fucked up because before i decided to put my money in, i was having doubts. but I didnt go with my gut feeling. This was going to be my first bike, and so cheap for a 2005, should have known! lol. i dont know if I want to cry and shiet, but im just laughing at my self for being stupid!.. Its going to take months now before I can get a bike, and this time ill just go to the dealership, **** this shiet! lesson learned, but a very expensive lesson

sorry, it kinda sounds like you're F'ed. I don't know what to tell you in order to resolve it, but usually the saying is "if it sounds too good to be true, it usually is."
Anytime you see any newer bike going for 3 grand, it's either a total piece, or it's a scam.

thanx, i guess that lightened me up, just wish still had that 3 grand though, thats a nice downpayment for a new one. Thanks for your guys support. I hate thieves and scammers.
i feel for you man! i almost did the same thing. it just sounds so appealing when you see a fairly new bike for that cheap. but that third party escrow company kinda made me think twice
Why don't you contact the IFCC? At least have your case documented somehwhere. Who knows maybe if he gets caught in the future you'll get some kind of reimbursment. http://www1.ifccfbi.gov/index.asp
That sucks, I remember when i was looking into getting a bike so many scams out there. If it sounds to good to be true, then it is! Never buy something you can't physically see yourself, chalk it up to experience. Good luck with getting a bike.
this guy is good, i doubt he is from bejing, he states hes from oregon, but the assigned escrow person is from italy, i had doubts already, Im just so excited and fixated at the bike I wasnt thinking right. So the money was actually sent to itally, under a person named Greg. Duhh!! what the **** was I thinking, why would I want to deal with a person in another country? if the bike was here in the US? Everyday I realize this is a lesson ill never forget.

Yeah and if everyone did the right thing we wouldn''t need laws, at all. No sense in scolding the guy over spilled milk.

There you go with your oversimplification again... although I think you mixed up your metaphors in the later half of that sentence. Maybe if he didn't put his glass on the edge of the table he wouldn't have spilled it in the first place. People shouldn't need to be told not to put their glass so close to the edge but the need for a scam thread certainly seems like they do.
Bottom line: Use your brain folks

In an ideal world, no one would ever need to be told to use their common sense.
We have a thread for newbies choosing their first bike; why not a scam thread? A lot of other, more dedicated motorcycle boards have them.
When I was first looking at bikes, I ran across a few of these. I made a post and asked if the deals sounded fishy. Now I know how to sniff out a scam, but I can't say that the forum didn't help me.

You're right, in an ideal world they wouldn't. Until we live there I'm going to call people idiots for not using their noodle. Elitest? Perhaps. Callous? Sure. Ask if that matters to me.
There is specific knowledge required when purchasing one's first bike that is not common sense... so there.

I see what you mean...and I do agree in principle, but in reality not everyone is as smart as we are.
I vote for a sticky scam thread.
