Laid down the bike a few times, mainly due to bad footing Over the weekend, a friend of mine got cut off during a sharp corner and plow into the snow. Luckily hes ok, the guy who cut him off didn't even stop!

down 2 times in 5 yrs.

First time going around a right sweeping turn, I was in the left lane, there was a car in the right lane. We were both doing about 65mph, the car decided they wanted my lane and hit me and knocked me into the grassy median. It had rained two days prior so it was muddy. The bike spun sideways and i was sliding and then i flopped on my left side. Dislocated my shoulder, and got some nice grass/mud burns from sliding in the grass. The ***** took off after hitting me.

Second time just 3-4 weeks ago.

Making a right turn from the main road onto a side road, a car made a left turn across traffic and was headed for where I was going. Either I T-bone him, or lay the bike down. I layed the bike down and he just kept going. I picked up the bike to go after him and it was flooded

I have been in several close calls, damn cages dont know how to drive in florida.

Locked up front brake on CBR 600 4 years ago in wet grass. Not a scratch on me only lots of mud. My buddy last summer was riding his Ninja 600 to my house and locked his front brake up going about 45 mph slid under car in front of him that was at a stop.Smashed the bike beyond repair. My bud was fine beside the road rash under his right armpit. ouch !!!!!!!!!!!!

It wasn't snowing when we rode. But just packed snow from the previous storms. I was suprised to see snow along the road since its been quite sunny here as of late.

Sounds about like my record... back in the day before I got into cars I was into bikes... Like an idiot, I practiced my Road-Racing technique on mountain roads. I learned my lessons the hard way.

Down once when a dog decided to jump in front of my FZR400. The dog was laying in the ditch and jumped in front of me when I was exiting a corner. Totalled the bike , scraped the hell out of my helmet, wore through the palm of my gloves, & ruined my jacket and pants. I hurt my knee pretty bad and was sore all over. The dog broke his back and had to be put down. I missed 2 weeks work and walked with a limp for a while. No problems on the SV650S and Ninja 250 but I've had a few cars turn left in front of me and one nasty headshake with the 250.

Twice. Both times with my CBR 600. Once, when drag racing my friend Shaun. Equal bikes, similar weight. I won and lost. I had bigger ***** until I ran through the T intersection. Although I thought it was wet when my rear tire started jumping during down shift, it was inexperience. My advice...PRACTICE EMERGENCY STOPS! I had the distance to stop if I had braked hard and held in the clutch. When you downshift, the tire will lock if your gear is lower than the speed you are traveling. Use the brakes. Another tip...winning isn't everything. I won the battle, but lost the war. $1500 in repairs and torn ligaments in my ankle. Although I rode away with no ticket, I didn't forget it. The pain...was tremendous! (Bill Cosby fans will understand that one) The second was while eluding someone that I should not have been. I was clean and a few miles away but still scared as hell. I passed a car while traveling north of 100. I was looking for the first side road and it came shortly thereafter. When I saw the car that I had just passed bearing down in my rear view, I panicked. I thought that he was going to plow me over. I pulled off on the shoulder at about 30. when I hit the ruts, I went airborn. When I came down, my tires were facing the wrong way. My leather protected me, but my right side plastic had to be replaced....again. I got up, restarted and got away clean. The irony was that I sold the bike to a cop a year later. I was lucky! Not everyone is so lucky. Be careful guys! Life is precious.

that would be freaky if someone did have to be brought back with paddles or a little CPR.

I havent laid down my bike yet since I have yet to put on some actuall street miles on it. But I do have a story.

A friends buddy of mine and his friend were riding up one of the scenic routes near the water here in Nor. Cali (2 lane road). Both of them were rounding a turn when all of a sudden, they see 2 NSXs coming straight at them, apparantly racing. One NSX in their lane! One was able to into the emergency lane, if you could call it that since it was soo narrow. The other saw that there was no way he could get out in time. He collided head on with the NSX! But just before the impact, he had the smarts to jump straight up off the bike to try to make it over the NSX. He would have made it too but one foot clipped the windshield of the NSX sending him spinning in the air. Luckily the only major injury he suffered was a broken leg. That jump move saved his life... His R1 on the other hand was literally cracked in half.

If this is not BS thats a great story. I've often wondered if that would be possible.

I fell 3 times in one race
The first fall waz due to a dude next to me kneeing mee right at the clipping point
i flew like a ******, destroyed my hanles, clutch cable popped, front fork got bent, but i was soooo pissed that i decided to still run. so i ran the WHOLE 2 hours left of race without using the clutch and with a bent motorcycle. hehe, that lead to another 2 falls, but i waz able to finish the whole race. unfortunately, i waz at the bottom, but i busted one of the top lap times with a broken bike so im happy

Well my first bike ever was Yamaha 225 stroked enduro which could be street or off road driven. I think at age 13 I should got some less powerful to learn on because off road when I did my first jump over anything was by accident because that Yamaha had such a power band it did a wheelie about everytime I hit the throttle too hard. Thus, me not knowing any better and couldn't turn it before I hit the small cliff I flew well according to folks there approx 70 feet down fliped it over a bunch rocks. Well I wasn't detered I got back on with just couple cuts and brusies and tried again to ride it around just down our long drive way. Well apparently because I didn't know how to position my self on the bike better and sat to far back cause the bike going up hill to pop wheelie again and too someone not sure about everything thats scary as hell. I tried to hit the brakes and last I knew I sliding about 35-45mph under my dads truck. Messing my bike up and my dads truck and getting deep scraps all over left side my body and front of my stomach. I looked like I was gore fest as when it was all over I looked pretty bad.
I got rid of the bike soon after to jet get whatever I could get out of it.

I'm planning to learn how to ride again but on something small and low powered like the Buell Blast because I don't want to go and do any type racing on motorbike just maybe sport touring type bikes as I've seen my friend loose 2 fingers cut off when he was racing super bike in Atlanta and the rear brake failed and when he grabed for both front and rear at the sametime he just basically was thrown off it like bucking bronco and slicing his two fingers off. He had them put back on but they never where the same he tells me. So I doubt I will be racing a bike anytime soon just like to do some touring on them.
