Default questions with h22 head swap to a h23

i want my prelude to become vtec with the h22 head. I was wondering if the head would directly bolt up or would there be work needed? Another concern is the since the the red line would be increased to 7grand plus, is there any problem with that compared to my 6500??? or ifthere are any other concerns???? thanx

the redline will stay at 6500. Ya sure you can rev it up to 7200 butthe h23 block has 50mm main bearing and cant handle the rpms.
just save your money for a h22 OR save your money to get a real JDM h23 vtec

i swear... the 92-98 prelude h22 had 50mm mains. the 98-01 h22a4 is the only h22 with 55mm mains. the H23 vtec is in the FAQ thread at top. its a link under hybrids. the head will bolt directly to the block. recommended that you DO NOT over rev, aka go over 7.5k at most. the transmission gear ratios make it to where you have to rev to almost 8k to stay in Vtec while racing. (h23 Tranny) if you switch to the h22 tranny or use a VAFC to adjust the Vtec engagement point, that will stop your problem. and save the motor. also check the oil at least once or twice a month to make sure that the motor is not eating to much oil. also recommend that you have your crankshaft and piston skirts shaved to allow of the H22 OEM oil squiters.
