Default hardwiring radar detector

i was thinkin about hardwiring my radar detector to a switch. if i was gonna run the power from the fuse box under the dash how would i do that?

It's not that hard. You don't even need to go to the fuse box. You can just use a relay and wire it to go on when the ignition is on.

You don't even need the relay, there is a 2nd ign. free pin on the in car fuse box, use it. 94

On the fuse box you will find 3, 4 or 5 free pins, depending on car, they are male flat spade term. (250) the same size as the pos. (+) term. on most speakers. here is a pix of them on a g2, scroll down till you see it, the free pins are just above the fuses http://www.g2ic.com/forums/showthread.php?t=101440 there will be a 12V+ constant, a 12V+ acc.. a 12V+ 2nd ign. and a 12V+ parklight output/input. 94

i spliced mine into my cigarette lighter, the hardest thing was running it down from the top of the dash.

Would you wire up, [splice in] a trailer plug into the wiring at the back of your car when most Honda/Acuras come with a place to plug the trailer plug adpt. into. 94

i know about those i just dont know how to use them. i heard you have to put a fuse in to get them to work, i've tried using them on other things i installed but i cant ever get them to work??

But like I said your way works just as well, my way is just a little cleaner. 94
