I don't get why euro cars can benefit from chips but our japanese cars don't. Sorry to hear bout that loss man.

yeah it's coo, =\ this isn't over yet tho... I still have my baby's engine
****, you guys are so much cooler then the people in the audi forums...

I think they benefit so much cause the chips turn up the boost, and the euro cars can boost a lot higher than honda's ... ?

i say pick up an eg hatch and use it as a fun track car. put all of your itr stuff on the civic. my friend just picked one up yesterday for $1500. 92 white vx, and it ran! no major body damage or anything. just my .2 cents.

Dont forget to buy the car back, before the insurance company sends it to the auctioneer.

Man this totally reminds me of what happened to me. I was at a party and had a couple of drinks, nothing major. My friend begged me to let him drive me home in my car. I said ok, let him drive. He took the car at 90mph thru a left hand sweeper, with me yelling at him the whole time to slow down, he then nailed the breaks and looses control the car sliding sideways at 90 thru the desert, the car straightens out in just enough time to go head on into a tree. We then carrum off the tree and end up in oncoming traffic. I am so lucky to be alive. They didnt total the car though, ended up rebuilding it and it looks great now. They did a pretty good job. Only took them 4 trys (I refused to take anything less than their best work), 75 days total, and $14,000 (from insurance). The guy who was driving still hasnt paid me back my deductable, it has been 6 months.

Moral of the story, dont let your friends drive your car (unless you completely trust them).

No my airbags didnt deploy which is very strange to me. The impact was severe enought to bend the frame rail and even damage the engine mount enough to push the engine back farther into the engine bay. We both had seat belts on, I dont know if that affects the sensitivity of the airbags or not. We came off the road doing 90 mph and hit a tree dead on (probably traveling at 35-40 when we hit the tree) ending up in oncoming traffic and noone was injured even minorly. Just amazing. Kind of disconcerting though, that the airbags didnt fire.

I let him drive cause he hadnt had anything to drink, seemed like the smart thing to do at the time. And I was yelling at him to slow down before we entered the corner, in my post above it kind of sounded like I told him to hit the breaks mid corner (that was not the case). I still cant believe that it happened and I am the most pissed because the car can easily handle the corner at that speed. How can someone think they can try to take a car to the limit the first time they drive it? So disrespectful to me and my property. He was a pretty good friend, now I just like to kick his azz everytime we play basketball and football games.

Well, in this case if the airbags went off you might have gotten more hurt. At least the driver would have gotten burns on his hand.

Yeah, I would be righteously pissed off at my 'friend' for doing that. I hope you guys get over it, and that everything works out well for you.. but you know he feels shitty too dude. Cuz he knows it was all his fault.
