Default mid pipe resonator

History:

bought 2000 Si new 5 years ago

drove it with i/h and springs for 4 years @ 172k miles

disassembled the car 1 year ago

ctr/obd1 conversion

ready to fire up. just need a new exhaust.

got a jdm dc 4:1 2.5 and a 2.5 cat (for a v8)

i hvae a black 2.5" vibrant muffler on the way and the muffler shop will make a custom midpipe to connect the cat to the muffler.

my question is regarding the resonator that is on the stock midpipe.

i dont want a cop magnet exhaust, partly why i got the black muffler. therefore i also want to keep this as quiet as possible.

what are my options in terms of a midpipe resonator?

You'll need a resonator with a larger Inlet/outlet to match the rest of your piping. You can use the stock one if you want but a longer resonator will be more effective. Your options are:

1. Go to your local muffler shop and ask them what types of resonators they carry. Pick and put it on.

2. Buy one on ebay then take it to your local shop and have em put it on.
