Default Tire size/compatibility search

I'm aware that several sites, such as tirerack, tiresavings, etc, all have a way to search for the size tire you have, but is there a known site that also allows you to search/filter the tires by measured wheel width?

I'm getting really frustrated with finding a tire with good reviews, good prices, and the right size, only to find out it requires a 10" wheel width.

Or, if someone can recommend a good tire in 275/40/17, with a 9" measured wheel width...that'd speed up the whole process....

Thanks guys.

If you are looking for max performance the Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 and the Michelin Pilot Sport PS2's are both available in that size. For the best value the Yokohama AVS ES100 is available at $131 each plus shipping. All of them will fit on a 9 inch wide wheel.
