I just installed foglights for my car...and i was wondering if i can make my fog lights independent. Basically, i can turn them on and off whenever i want it; as of right now it turns on when the headlights turn on. Is there any other way besides tapping with parking lights?

 

there is a way. thats how i have mine wired up. but i had them wired up for me so sorry thats the only help i can give... is to tell you that it is possible.

 

There is prob a better way than this to do it but all you would need to do it find the power wire to the relay that comes with it and the signal wire. run power to the power wire from the batt. and the signal wire to an. acc. wire so they will only be on when the car is on. but u also have to be sure not to buy pass the switch or they will always be on if the car is on. Like i said there is prob a better way and someone that can describe it better but there is my input.

 

That's pretty much the only way to do it. Switch the signal wire on the relay from the headlights to a switched 12V nearby.
