Default Thinner Headgaskets

What does raising the compression do to the powerband? Does it increase hp/tq over the entire band or do you sacrifice somewhere?

Also, if one were to do this, what kind of tuning would be needed, as in timing etc.

Thanks.

Raising the compression in a motor would give you better power/torque across the entire powerband. Torque gains will be especially noticeable in the lower revs.

Make sure the mating surfaces on the head and block are perfectly flat if you plan on using a thinner head gasket.

a thinner headgasket can raise the compression some, but it also changes the air flow in the combustion chamber. i think this is a cheap way of getting more power...if it all works out. do it right but getting different pistons.

just my 2 cents.
