if you use the golden eagle dowel pins u need to use a vtec head gasket b16 bor gsr. and leave the dowel pins on the side they are usually on the head of a gsr. no drilling neccessary with the golden eagle dowel pins

i have had customers who have wanted to use their golden eagle dowel pins when they get the kit. i inform them that they are a tight fit and should drill out the head. And, only a handful of times have i been able to save the dowel pins when i have to remove them to mill a head.

If i were you, i would take the head to your local machine shop and have the 2 holes that LS motors use reamed out to fit regular OE dowel pins.

What if you want to keep the head untouched, in case it will be mated to a vtec block again?

you can still use the head. It just had opened up dowel holes. nothing that affects the motor at all
