Tein RE coilovers installed = night/day
I just got my coilovers installed this past weekend and I must say it's sick. After lowering it on the lift i noticed it didn't squat for ****. I went to lower the hood and tried sitting on the radiator support and could see how there was 0 compresion. I set the rears ride height on lowest setting and front is within tein spec. After the first trip I noticed that it was a whole different ride. I could feel the stiff springs(14k/f - 10k/r) no doubt but what I noticed most was that there was rebound on bumps but the compression wasn't there. I mean it was like being thrown up and dropped to the ground on the stiffest setting. Once I set it to 16 clicks soft on the front and 14 rear i noticed it was a lot more forgiving. Interstate on/off ramp loops are insane. Overall, I must say that it is one of the most noticeable mods yet.
tein!!!
tein!!!
Hi,
Would you recommend these a daily drive car? I had really harsh setting on a bilstein made for an integra coupe in switzerland but it was a bit too hard tho.. so I sold them.
I was planning on getting tein Flex (because I often go on circuit) but they seem to be to smooth with 9kgf front and 4kgf rear.
I'd like something like 11kgf front and 6kgf rear..
does your teg understeer a bit with 10kgf rear or not at all?

I also have the Tein RE's (and the EDFC).
I'm thinking about changing out my springs for something slightly softer; It's a little too rough for the streets.
Any info on compatibility? I wanted some Swift Tohatsu (sp?) springs! Maybe even the spring rates out a little more instead of a large front bias. Maybe something closer to the 500lb range...

Personally, I believe that you can get the ride that suits you best, no matter how high the spring rates are. Do a lot of fine tuning, and adjusting and youll get a nice soft smooth ride for around town daily deals, and spend some time at the track, play some more, and youll find an adequate setting for the track deal.
congrats on your newfound success. glad to hear you got them dialed in to suit your needs.
