leak from vtec selenoid?

Default leak from vtec selenoid?

Has anyone else been leaking oil through their vtec selenoid or am i the first one? Cause my block is gunked up from the selenoid down to the tranny...

i took my car into the shop and they told me my selenoid was leaking...i also would like to know how to fix that myself

I doubt it's the solenoid itself. It will either be the cam seal (on a DOHC) or the gasket between the solenoid and the head. Lemme post some part numbers for ya..


VTEC solenoid gasket for DOHC - 15825-P08-005
(actually the same for SOHC too)

I can't find the cam seal for the life of me, but here is a pic of the aftermarket golden eagle cam seals. The OE ones are the same just black. This is located right behind the VTEC solenoid..


Hope this helps..

EDIT: I must be going blind because I just found it on the same ******* page as the gasket. So the PN for the OE cam seal is 12513-P30-000 Its like $5 compared to the over $20 price of the golden eagle one.
