Default As much as I love my ITR ...

I don't think I can deal with the headaches and "issues" that come with the car. I miss being able to park in the street, mall/movie parking lots, and heck ... even getting groceries.

After much consideration ... I'm trading in the ITR for a Aspen White Subaru WRX (probably work out all the paperwork tonight). Depending on credit and finance rates ... hehe.

I would still like to attend ITR meets and such even though I will no longer own an ITR.

Why not wait a few months and get an STi?

Well living in NY it seems his options are:

1) wanting the car back after trading it in for a Subaru
2) wanting the car back after getting it stolen

Public transit is good too

Hell I've been with out a car for over a month and have not had much of a problem getting around, plus it saves on money. Though I do have a kick *** gf that drives my *** around every where.

I actually don't like to take my car everywhere and prefer to leave it at home, just take it out for a quick drive in the hills or the highway on the weekends or after work, I enjoy that more that driving it to the supermarket or movies. I'm am working on gettting a CRX for around town driving.

Yeah, why not get a beater and drive that ... and keep your ITR for days when you know where it'll be safely parked. The thing is that if you sell it, there won't be anymore made for when you want it back again. Just a thought.

Well ... a beater is out of the question since I don't have the garage space for another car (one of the pitfalls of living in NYC).

I have no doubt that I'm going to miss the ITR. The only positive point of all of this is that I can at least say that I've owned one for a limited time. I doubt I could deal with the car getting stolen/vandalized.

I thought about waiting for the STi/Evo 7+ but I'm sure both cars will be on the high end of the insurance scale. Between initial savings and long term savings ... I'm sure I could save up for a few STi bits while keeping my insurance premium low.

I hear what you're saying bout parking in NYC. I lived there for two years... $350 / mnth for car parking. It's absolute robbery! Can you get around in and around the city without your car and use it only to go to Jersey or out in the boondocks?

I went throught the same thoughts as you...here is why I keep my ITR.

1. It is just simply superb in autocross. In stock vs. stock, not too many cars ($25K or less) can equal an ITR. A miata can be faster, but it has far less utility than an ITR.

2. If it gets stolen, insurance usually gives $18K plus for an ITR. This usually will cover the note and you are free to get whatever car you want.

But, I understand. The whole vandalism thing is annoying. I'd rather have the car straight out stolen than repeatedly vandalized.

But before you do it, come out to an autocross at the Meadowlands on March 10. It may change your mind !

No worries. I'll definitely attend various autocrosses this year since I'm trying to get some of my friends off the drag/street racing bit and into legal/safe organized racing.

March 10th? I'll definitely mark that on my calendar. Will I be bringing an ITR or WRX? Who knows but I'll try my best either way.
