Default Si shifter question

Is there any way you can turn the si into a floor mount shifter instead of on the dash. It is the only reason why I have not bought one yet. I have driven the si plenty of times but I just cant get used to it an it sucks please tell me the is hope

There's no cheap and easy way to do that. Moreover, having the shifter up close to the steering wheel is one of the things they did right w/the EP3 design.

I've even moved my track car's shifter up close to the steering wheel for the same effect:

I'm sorry you feel you can't get used to it.... It's really the right place for the shifter to be.

i don't see how you couldn't get used to it...it's easier to shift than a floor mounted shifter

It's so much easier... the steering wheel to shifter difference makes driving so much more effortless.

The only thing i had to get used to was not having a place to rest my hand when i wasn't shifting... my right leg worked just fine for me though

Wow, that shifter is high, though it has its benefits.

Having the high shifter makes so much sense, I wouldn't want to go back to a floor shifter (well, not a low one, anyway). It's just right *there*, right about where it is on the S2000, too.

It took me some time to get used to it -- probably as long as it took to get to the first stop sign on my first (and only) test drive.

People still ask about it -- I had one security guard make the comment to the other guard on duty, "Yeah, this is the one with the shifter on the dash, come check this out!" People will say that it's weird, or they've never seen anything like it before (this car's in its fourth year, geez..), but they always ask how difficult it was for me to get used to it. I always tell them that it's great.
