what comes with teh STi package? Last time i read it was a host of body mods and a relocated e-brake to "aid in turning"

I wouldn't rule out the lancer either. From what i have read it will be sick.

good luck

Also try http://www.clubwrx.net
It is smaller, but pretty decent. i-club gets lot's of traffic. I already have my deposit on my STi. I get the first white one.

I think I'm gonna go with the O2' WRX and then mod it. I dont wan't to wait and I don't think I want to spend almost 40k on a STi!

To me 35-40k is BMW $$$

By the way how much is the dealer asking out the door for the STi?

You also get more power, a tougher tranny, better suspension, bigger brakes.

Think WRX "Type R".

I was reading Car magazine at Borders today.
They have an STi vs Evo vii comparo article. There is also a hatch comparo
which has the civic type R as one of its features, if that floats your boat.

I picked up my new WRX wagon today and the dealer told me that the STI would be almost $60,000 Canadian. The WRX is $34,595 Canadian which with the current exchange is about $21,xxx US. I don't think the STI will happen next year but probably the year after.

WRX is nice, but my friend just dumped his tranny at the Drag strip. Profec B, 215 45 r18 Paradas, BOV, and a CAI... 4500 miles on the car and the tranny is dead already. While we were working on it at the strip another guy comes up and starts talking. Turns out he bombed his tranny inside of 3000 miles in his WRX...

We returned my friends car to near stock (left on the BOV and Turbo Timer) and took it to a local Ford/Subie dealer. They said they'd replace the tranny, no questions! (He told them he was getting on the freeway or some ish). They didn't ask any further questions. I wonder if Subaru is having a problem with their Trannys and isn't saying anything, just replacing any that have problems... I don't know, I'm just skeptical... I've just never heard of a dealer doing major work on a car at such an early stage with out asking more questions...

I would not forget about the Lancer EVO, that is a sweet *** car. Just curious guys - my friend had to take his WRX back b/c there was a recall on his engine and turbo, is this true for all WRXs? Subaru gave him a brand new engine and turbo.
