Default D16 parts on D15b?

if I put in a turbo charger for my civic with a d15B would it work if I used D16 parts? or will I have to swap or look for d15 parts?

maybe some... what type of parts would you like to swap? piston/rods won't work due to different lengths/widths, etc... i'm not sure about the bearings/shafts/etc.

Was going to get a d15b but the parts availability is what made me turn to the d16

Im just looking into a turbo charger...Im not worried about shafts,pistons,rods...condsidering Im not stupid running it at like 20+ psi...so as long Im not on it all the time I think I'll be ok with 5-7 psi....seen many people run with that for a year or so and never had a prob with it...just a good oil change every now and then... like you'd have to do anyway:/

well, you asked if parts were interchangable... the turbo will work fine at around 200hp so it should be all good

problem is d15b parts are harder to find than d16.. and even if you find them, they are more expensive than the d16 counterparts

well one is a 1.5 and the other is 1.6 so parts whose physical size matters won't be swapable

welll you already got that thing in there so just turbo it. once it breaks or worn out or whatever you can always swap a new engine. you don't need to swap cars if you like what you got

Lol Im on my last post for the day...um I actually havent bought it yet Im just looking into buying it and I was wondering which would be easier...by the sounds (and long searching) its gonna be easier to just get the EX because its already a D16...and of course theres a bunch of different stuff for it that a D15 doesnt (or at least that Ive seen) has

wtf are you two noobs talking about? buying another car? haha

if you want idiot-proof, buy a greddy kit. check the numbers, it's the same kit for d15 and d16. you do not need to do anything but bolt the kit on if you only want to run 5 psi. if you want to run higher, I would def. get it professionally tuned, don't try it yourself. add an intercooler if you have the extra $$, def. a worthwhile upgrade.
you won't need upgraded internals or sleeves at 7psi. on a greddy kit, I don't care what anyone that posts after me says

spydir, reading the posts might help he's still contemplating which engine he wants which will affect the car he buys (he doesn't want to do swaps after he buys car)

you could blow the d15b at 7psi... staying around 200hp should be no problem for d15b/d16 if it's properly tuned

if he tuned it himself, yes. if he had it properly tuned, no. the arguement here is the rods, and it depends on which d15 engine you're talking about as to whether or not the stock rods will handle the abuse. I have a jdm d15b which uses the same rods as a z6. so how would boosting my engine be any more difficult than boosting a 1.6? if anything, the bore is smaller so the stock sleeves are thicker, and the piston mass lower, all benefits.
