Default slicks with no LSD... still able to pull good 60's?

If i run a nice set of slicks on my stock differential (no lsd), will I be able to pull good 60's?.. (around a 1.8?) Setup is a sohc vtec @ 10psi.

Also whats a good size and brand slick to get? Im tired of pulling shitty 2.3-2.4s. I ran at the track a few weeks back with a pair of 20x7x13 Avon autocross slicks and they spun like crazy. Best all night was a 2.37 sixty foot, 14.2 @ 100mph. I really want to hit 12's!

vids from 2 of my runs:

well my buddy with a 91 civic, with a zc dohc pushing 10 psi, has no lsd and slicks he does 2.0 0-60 ft but he claims he sucks at driving it, so im sure you can get at least a 1.8, and his slicks are pretty thin, i can't tell you which ones to buy, but good luck dude

You should ask in the drag forum. With good driving you could get good 60 fts.

if you are only trapping 100mph you are not gonna hit 12's. get some descent slicks and dont be scared to break something and if you can drive it you will hit high 13's

22x8 slicks will be fine for you...a buddy of mine had a integra with 392 whp on 22 inch slicks he could run consistent 11.6's but he was trapping in 5th gear..you have less power so you wont have that problem...he got 24 inch slicks and ran 11.4 trapping at the top of 4th. good luck with it man.

I was running 22x8 M&H slicks on my Civic and getting 1.6-1.7 60ft's, no lsd. Best 60ft was a 1.60. At that power level I didn't see much of a advantage to a LSD since at the track both slicks would spin.

depending on ur rpm redline and the type of tranny you are using...also the power. i've been looking for a set for a while and have done some research

i'll take into consideration that you have an EX tranny on ur sohc vtec motor. it revs up to around 7k +/- 100-200rpms. you make around 200whp, if not lower.

them 22" slicks sound good to me. unless u trap over 122mph u will stay in 4th. around 90mph ends 3rd gear. thats shifting at 6.8k rpms.

Next time you need to figure out 1/4 mph, rpms, etc...basically MPH in w/e car on the strip use this:

http://autocrossing.com/cgi-bin/gearcalc.cgi

Just plug in the tranny, tire diameter, redline.

yep you should be able to get good 60' times. It will take some practice. But my friends and I usually are able to pull 1.6 - 1.8 on 24.5's.

You will probably want to learn how to load the tranny so that you don't break anything though. You probably don't just want to drop the clutch or else you might be picking up a few pieces of parts
