Rear speakers in 90-91 Civic Hatchback?
Did any of the 90-91 Civic Hatchbacks come with rear speakers?
If so, what model (dx,Si, etc.) have them?
And where are the rear factory speaker locations?
Any pics would be greatly appreciated!!
(I used the search option but couldn't find any results, Recent OR Archived...maybe I am retarded though..hehe
)
Thanks!!

I believe it was an option on the DX, std, and standard in the Si. They go on top of the brackets that hold the rear cargo cover. Do you even have the rear cargo cover?
Im willing to trade my rear speaker panels for non drilled covers. I need them to be dark gray/black "From a gray cloth interior" If anyone has them in MINT "and I mean mint" shape Im willing to trade. Mine are mint , no speaker in them but it is drilled by Honda with the Speaker cover on it

Mine are installed with speakers, but I had to go to a salvage yard to get the cover and the brackets. After that I just got the speaker installation kit from Honda.
Oh, I don't have any pics though. Sorry.

Yeah, it was one of those options like mud guards, nose mask, floor mats....
My '91 Civic Si did not come with rear speakers. In '97 when I bought the car, there were still rear speaker kits available, of course I got them. THe kit is really nothing special. Just some round flanges that mount on top of those side "pockets" along side the cargo cover. Depending on your speaker dimensions, you also have to cut out the bottom of the pocket for the magnet.

Exactly what TJ said. The rear speaker kit is still available. They are only like 20 bucks through http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com
You have to do a little drilling and cutting, but it's very simple. By the way, the speakers sound really good back there. You are definitely going to feel some bass with the speakers back there. At least I do with my Infinity. It's like night and day with those speakers there.

My Si came with Mudguards, rear speakers, the sunroof visor, and floormats...
If only they had gotten the upgraded stereo with EQ, so I could have had the optional center console!!!!

It's not available anymore from hondaautomotiveparts.com anymore, i called them a while back wanting some, so I ended up having the cut out the holes in my rear console, to fit some 6.5's.

call a honda dealer directly, same price from if you got it from that site. The dealer will just have to get it from there chicago warehouse.
All of the 90-91 Hackbacks had the option for a rear speaker set up.
If yours doesnt have one, you can order the mounts from any honda dealership for about $80. You provide the speakers. (figure $100 for some good 3 way components).
If your comfortable with a hobby saw, you could just fabricate your own by simply cutting out the mount area, and using the speaker brackets.
FYI: The mount areas are the left and right indented areas found by the rear side windows (looking through the back of the hatch)
